Art 2 Heart

Art has the power to express emotion, to illicit deep thought, and to inspire others toward purposeful action.

The Artist’s heart is filled with gratitude for opportunities to allow his sculptures to support his passion for the care and education of children and the environment. Some examples are included below.

Galá-Sá-Pillár / Oruga

My passion for imagination is a constant as I’ve discovered through my growth process as an artist. It has guided me to the raw pure awareness of all my senses. The clarity of my vision of this particular piece is a three-dimensional view of this creature clothed in strength and dignity, undulating forward toward its ultimate destiny.

Phoenix

“Phoenix” marks new beginnings, symbolizing renewal by the sheer source of energy, sometimes depicted as a fireball. It is believed that Phoenix appears in places that are blessed with peace, prosperity and happiness.

This piece was donated to the Ocean Institute in Dana Point, CA to help fund its maritime educational programs. Having survived the pandemic, the Ocean Institute celebrates its own new beginnings.

Equilibrium

“Equilibrium” celebrates the inner strength to carry on even when life feels out of balance. Despite those factors that throw us off, we maintain equilibrium by adjusting to the varying influences in our lives, achieving a calm state of mind.

“Equilibrium” was donated to the ASID Charity auction to support SPIN (Serving People In Need), helping to provide a home for children and their families, preventing a family from losing their home, and helping families find new employment through businesses that are hiring. The Orange County Chapter of the American Society of Interior Designers is a family of designers, industry representatives, educators, and students who believe design impacts lives by uplifting and inspiring us all to help people and bring comfort to their lives during challenging times.

Antarctica II

Antarctica II represents one equal temper of heroic hearts. This piece is inspired by the intense beauty of this dry, cold and windy continent. Under all circumstances, though weakened by time and fate, the will to strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield, is evident.

Crystal Cove Soirée is an important fundraising event, presented by Crystal Cove Conservancy that supports a unique educational experience for underserved schools in Orange County and beyond. These nationally-recognized programs immerse students and community members in the practice of conservation and open space management.

Calypso

Calypso’s colors and flow of design are inspired by the energy of the ocean’s movement, the sparkle of sun-kissed waves, and the beauty and mysteries of the ocean. By donating this sculpture for auction at Crystal Cove’s annual Soirée, I’ve been honored to reflect my passion for children’s education toward stewardship of the environment.

This important fundraising event, presented by Crystal Cove Conservancy, supports a unique educational experience for underserved schools in Orange County and beyond. These nationally-recognized programs immerse students and community members in the practice of conservation and open space management.

The Conservancy was founded in 1999 by Laura Davick to save Crystal Cove Historic District from being developed into a luxury resort property and is now on the National Register of Historic Places and one of California’s Historical Landmarks. Crystal Cove remains the area’s singular, unchanged place in the sun, a “jewel” of Southern California.

Wolf Moon

The sale of this sculpture benefited The Lily of the Valley Orphanage, a Christian-based family home for abused and abandoned children in Tijuana, Mexico. Because of this organization, these children now have shelter, food, clothing, medical care, education, love, stability, and belonging. Through donations and the dedication of volunteers and staff, the lives of these children are transformed from the anguish of their past to a future of hope.

Enchained

Linked by an internal yearning for a world in which we protect and nurture our environment, wanting to break free into the new era of our times, may we passionately burn with creative energy to link the chain to the goodness of our hearts and souls.

The sale of Enchained will benefit The Ranch at Laguna Beach’s newly designed “Scout Camp” that serves as the program’s backdrop. It is one of Orange County’s most fitting locations for educational experiences, focusing on under-privileged youth mentorship.
